You are getting a peek at the birthday card I made today for Julie, our daughter. She promised not to nose into my blog until she receives the card. :-)
I had fun using the color combination from the Outlaw Designer paper from Stampin' Up! of Blush blossom, Sage shadow, and Really rust. I used the flowers from my Pretties kit and experimented a bit with coloring them. I found I got good control of the color using my watercolor crayons and a paintbrush. I rubbed the wet brush onto the crayon, then dabbed it onto the flower, blending as needed. This helped me get a good vibrant color. Mostly I used Blush Blossom, but I added darker lines with Really Rust for shading. The rhinestone brad holds the three pieces together.
The only stamping is the 'for you' on the bottom right. Using the Three for You flower punch and vellum card stock was an easy way to make the flower border.
You can't see this in the phot, but the center of each flower seems to have a sparkly button. It's actually a glue dot, place there and then I poured Dazzling Diamonds glitter on the whole row. This card measures 4-1/4" by 7"
I hope Julie likes it! Thanks to you for looking too....
