It's Friday and a gorgeous fall day here in North Carolina, I am really looking forward to some outside time this weekend. I have had some fun stamping time this week too! I am still working on holiday cards, slowly but surely accumulating a stash. My cards are all different designs this year - this blog has been great for motivating me to create daily. Sometimes the ideas really flow and other times I have to work at them, but all in all creating consistently has been a very very good thing.
Yesterday the Ways to Use It Challenge #142 at SCS to use metallic card stock caught my fancy. I think of metallic gold as a tried-and-true classic and that idea influenced the style and colors I chose for this card. When it was all finished, I still thought it looked too plain. Pulling out my Cuttlebug and using the Textiles template for the gold mat really added a rich texture. This brought out a smile, you know I love texture! And the contented feeling came of having the card just the way I liked it.... I would never think of using black on a Christmas card but isn't it fun to try something different once in a while? Have a great weekend.
