Today's challenge at Stamp Something is a great layout sketch by a most talented artist,Katharina Frei! I will tell you that it took me a long time to come up with an idea for this sketch, and the process definitely stretched me! But gradually some vague ideas began forming in my head. I knew designer paper was a must (well, I know, that's true for any card!) because there are so many layers. Next I decided to use shades of green with rose and white. By that time I had my heart set on using the Embrace Life set, so I planned out all the proportions according to the size of the large flower. This challenge became so much fun as all the parts came together. I challenge you to give it a try and I can't wait to see the results!
Here's my card! It measures 4 - 3/4" square.
I liked the idea of adding Pretties Kit pearls on the left for balance. I used markers to color in the small blossoms, and sponged the whisper white paper with Certainly Celery ink. I cut out a few special buds outside of the box on the strip. The large flower is stamped on watercolor paper and colored with Watercolor Wonder Crayons. My clear Spica pen added some sparkle, and the sentiment is punched with the Word Window punch and threaded on a beribboned hat pin! This is not your everyday quick card! I hope you (and somebody special that I send it to!) will enjoy it.
