I've been MIA over the holiday but I'm back with my wish for you for the New Year. Hope. For each new day.
Like so many bloggers, I couldn't wait for a happy dose of spring colors and non-Christmas images when I sat down to stamp earlier this week. Showing off the new to me set of Fall Florals, from My Favorite Things, stamped with Distress Inks in a pink and yellow combo.
I love this sentiment, and its encouraging message. To tell you truthfully, I made this card to be my own reminder that now and throughout 2016 the Lord's mercies are new every morning.
Reflecting on the past year has reminded me of many transitions for me and our family. You may skip this if you like! But some of you have asked how I am, and here is the update.
At this time last year I was fully engaged with life and juggling many activities like being on the praise team, in choir and solo rotation at church, busy with friends and my stamping business. We were "expecting" our first grandchild, and our daughter and her husband moved to a new town.
Many things changed for me in April with the recurrence of a past illness and a diagnosis of neuro sarcoidosis. It was good to finally have a name for the disease that has flared up over the past thirty years. This time it didn't go into remission and so I've learned to deal with chronic fatigue and right side weakness that causes difficulty walking. My world suddenly became smaller and much more unpredictable.
I'm happy to report that I am having more good days than bad days, and right now though there are limitations, they come and go and thankfully have not progressed. I have wonderfully supportive family and friends. On really good days I can drive myself to local errands or lunch with friends.
Other happy news is becoming Mimi and Papa to our first granddaughter born in May, and now, our son and his lovely wife are due any day with their first child. We love being grandparents! Also last month, my dear husband became fully retired. It was a bit earlier than we were thinking, but we are very happy about spending our days together and his opportunity for relaxing, knowing that the timing is just right.
I ended my stamping business after being a happy Stampin' Up! demonstrator for 11 years. I promised my loyal readers who stuck with me after that, that stamping would not be going by the wayside. Little did I know how much I would enjoy buying often from the smorgasbord of "everything-else-out-there" over the past year. In 2016 I need to be a little more productive with my stamps and do a little less spending, ha ha! Stamping was and continues to be my best therapy!
You, dear reader, are a part of that. I want to thank you for your continued support and friendship here on my blog. Your visits, comments and personal notes written to me have been so welcome and encouraging. Stamping and blogging has made my world richer, brought many dear friends, and enlarged the scope of my community in a way I never imagined. Heartfelt thanks to you!
