Just a little spring fever...

Just a little spring fever, and a break from making Christmas cards. Of course, I am excited about the chance to use more new stuff too! Here's today's card for you.

I love the simplicity of this card and the happy colors. A few things to notice~

• the Sending Love Notes (Hugs) come with delicate glassine envelopes. I promise to show them soon! The white panel with the tiny scalloped edge on my card is the Love Note; I just love using these as the main panel !
• The Two-Step Bird Punch is so easy to use! I punched the branch and cut the leaves off the mellow moss image. Each leaf has a tiny score line in the middle.
• The new Sending Love Epoxy brads add just the right touch! I love the 1/4" size~just right to highlight the sentiment from the Well-Scripted set. I love the soft curves of the font and the sweet sayings.
• The layered ribbons are white Satin and taffeta ribbon in Mellow Moss. Ribbons take on a whole new look when layered, and there are so many options!

Only a couple more weeks until these items will be available in the Occasions Mini!

Beautiful Wings take flight

I {heart} butterflies and love collecting them on today's card with the Beautiful Wings Embosslit (available January 5 in the Occasions Mini). I thought you'd like another sneak peek today!  This wafer thin die cuts and embosses 5 butterflies in various sizes. They come out ready to take flight and add beauty to any project. My fav is the striped one, you may need to click to enlarge the photo so you can see the details.

I made this card for the Color Challenge at SCS which is to use Barely Banana, Always Artichoke, and Rich Razzleberry- yummy colors! The layout comes from a card of Kristina Werner's that I have long admired.

Happy Christmas colors!

The Color Combo challenge last week suggested the colors of Pretty in Pink, Bermuda bay and Old Olive. This is the second card I made for the challenge. I'm not going to show you the first right now because I really didn't like how it turned out. But I love this one!  I discovered the key to this color combo is to use LOTS of white. We had the option of using plaid paper too, so I found this cute plaid in the Pawsitively Prints series. Sponging on the edges adds a bit of depth to the circle layout which uses the Scallop Circle #2 die. I sponged the white punched snowflake with Pretty in Pink ink.

More Christmas Punch

I has so much fun with the Christmas Punch set and the color challenge from Tuesday that I played with a few scraps and put them into a card for you today!  Here's the status ~ the home improvements are still going on - picture three crews here today - the good news is that they are wrapping things up! 

Now picture me very early in the morning at my craft table in my PJ's, dabbing away with my stipple brush. If ever I needed some stamping therapy, this is it, LOL! Truly, I felt like a kid playing!  Enough rambling, here's today's card. 

 

A bit more info~

I LOVE the way this image can be punched with the square punch and then matted perfectly with the scallop punch to look just like a postage stamp! This set is the Best!

• I stippled the Bravo Burgundy card stock in Bravo Burgundy ink to add a texture that's almost similar to felt, I love it!
• I randomly stamped the snowflake image from the Christmas Punch set on top of the stippling. This made it so easy to create my own background pattern like designer paper.
• The Santa image was sponged lightly with Close to Cocoa ink. I prefer to keep my cards focused on the real meaning of Christmas, but couldn't resist playing with this cute stamp.
• Tool of the day? The needle for threading the taffeta ribbon through the button. I tied linen thread through the small button, and wrapped an extra strand behind. Didn't want to throw that bit away!

Inspired by purple...

Today's card is a fun mix of old and new. Clean and simple.

I was inspired to use purple - something I am usually reluctant to do - by Julia's Ways to Use It challenge at SCS.  Paper plates figured in there too - don't you sometimes just get SO inspired by plates and napkins? I even saved one of these so you could see it~

 
My card base is kraft card stock which I embossed with large dots.

• The fruit image is from one of my retired Stampin' Up! sets called Thanksgiving Blessings. I usually watercolor this image, but I love the effect of just stamping with Rich Razzleberry ink. The details are boldly visible.
• Did you notice that I machine stitched this card? I don't often want to bother, but what a difference it makes!
• For my bow treatment, I wrapped a length of ribbon around the card, overlapped it slightly, and secured it with a glue dot. Then I added the shorter ribbon piece on top, and put the button over both layers.

I love being stretched by challenges, hope you've been inspired today!

Now, I know I don't usually post on Sunday, but I was so happy to get to make a card for the Featured Stampers Challenge at SCS that I couldn't wait to show it to you!  My card was inspired by this card by Kelly. I loved the country feel of her card! Wanting to keep that mood, I used my beloved Bella Rose DP and kraft. Here's the card, and if you click on the pic you'll get a much better view. So happy to have friends like you who take the time to see what I've been making and leave me sweet comments. Thanks!
