Hi there! 

This has been a busy spring and I've gotten a bit slack about posting. I hope to fix that soon so you'll know you can expect to hear from me several times weekly. 

I've had lots of time to craft. As a matter of fact, I've been intensely involved in the fun of creating projects to submit for the Stampin' Up! Artisan challenge this year. It is such a stretching experience to make a variety of intensely detailed projects. I'll be mailing them in but not until I've taken photos to share with you another time.

I took a break to make a quick and easy card with the Bright Blossoms set which wil be available June 1 in the new catalog! Lots of new catty excitement for me today as I expect my pre-order in a couple of days.

I love the happy colors and coordinating Summer Smooches Designer paper. I used the Bigz Square die to make the card base. 

The sentiment is from the Short & Sweet set, which is retiring. This one is often a go-to for me.

Mouthwatering!

 Good morning! 

I'm sharing the other projects we made at my club last week using the Mouthwatering and Fruits and Flowers set.

 The card is a CASE from the Idea Book & Catalog on page 99. I changed it by using punched flowers and the Berry Blossoms Designer Series Paper instead of stamped images, but kept everything else the same. Making a mock up of the card with My Digital Studio helped me get the right dimensions and placement of the squares and rectangles for the layout. I printed it out on copy paper and then measured the shapes. What a help to take the guesswork out if it!

The water bottle topper has been around awhile but was fun to revisit with the Cherry Scented Embossing Powder. My Digital Studio enabled me to create a sheet of printed tags to be punched with the Curly Label punch.

Polka dots and More!

Here is Take 2 of my entries for the Freshly Made Sketch Challenge. It was such a fun sketch and I wanted to try again with a simpler card. I like the balance and colors of this card better, what do you think? If you missed my other sample, you'll find it HERE.

I've actually enjoyed making more than one sample from the same sketch for quite a long time here on my blog. I call this feature Twice is Nice, and you will find a collection of these listed under Twice is Nice in my categories section. 

This card features the Awash With Flowers set, and the DSP is Berry Blossoms. Using the out of the box technique, I stamped the flower image in Early Espresso ink, and cut around the flower before cutting out the rectangular panel. The blooms were cut out and paper pieced over the first stamped image.

With this bright and happy card I hope to have brightened your day.

Love Note

 I've seen the cutest cards with the You're My Type stamp set. Isn't that the way it happens with the set you DIDN'T include in your order? Well, now that I decided I need this set, I'm having fun getting to play with it! I love the versatility of the old typewriter image and combined it with the Outlined Occasions stamp set to come up with this cute Valentine.

I used the Outlined Occasions stamp set for the sentiments. Stamping "Love" in Basic Brown ink enables me to maintain browns as my neutral and marker in the color without it bleeding.

Speaking of what I need, I've almost used up my pack of Attic Boutique DSP. I love the vintage stlye and bright patterns paired with Soft Suede. This card fits the Color Combo Challenge at SCS to use Poppy Parade, Soft Suede, and Daffodil Delight. My inspiration began with this great sketch from Mojo Monday.

Candy Conversations

Here's a quick card to brighten someone's day!

Using an A La Carte stamp called Candy Conversations I stamped the rows of hearts in Pumpkin Pie, Poppy Parade and Melon Mambo inks. I wanted a vibrant look and I'm pleased that I got it!

The card base of Sahara Sand allows these colors to pop! I did some fussy cutting on the hearts and layered them on a die cut with the Labels Collection Framelits. The sentiment is embossed in white.

I really enjoyed making this fun card that came together in 30 minutes, after I had played with a few color options. I made this for the Freshly Made Sketches challenge but missed the deadline to post it. Hate when that happens! I hope it's a winner in your book, thanks for stopping in to my blog today.

Take it to Heart

Hi there!

Hope your day and new year is perking along well. I've been busy with family birthdays and a stamping "Tea" party last night but I've got a quick share for you today.

You know you are going to see this set again from me a few times in the next month - I LOVE the Take it to Heart stamp set from the Occasions Mini. Paired with the Everyday Enchantment DSP (a peek of what's to come with Sale-A-Bration) this vintage set shows off a cute and fun, classic style!

I started out with an idea to create a seasonal card perfect for a thank you or short note. I love the perky colors - Lucky Limeade, Pool Party, Calypso Coral and Poppy Parade.

Adding a topper made with the Adorning Accents Edgelits and coordinating embossing folders really dresses up this easy card. I stamped the sentiment from the Loving Thoughts set tone on tone so the edge treatment details could stand out.

This fits right in with the Love Challenge at The Paper Players.

Red, green and a little {{pink}}

I want to thank everyone who visited my blog yesterday - you made me feel as if my posts had been missed! I read every comment as well and so many brought a smile to my face. I appreciate you!

I was in the mood for a lighthearted Christmas card in non-traditional colors today. It absolutely tickled me pink to make this card! I love pink and green together with just a hint of red, don't you?

 
The Season of Joy stamp set is the perfect choice for a whimsical style card. My search resulted in no pink DSP to use, so I stamped the background with the words image from the set. (It was a DUH! kind of moment, lol!) The tree is stamped and cut out to add to this circle card, bedecked with pearls that were colored with my red Sharpie.

At MOJO Monday a circle or square card was the theme and here's the great sketch that inspired my layout.

I learned a new trick when making circle cards. Instead of die cutting or folding one sheet of card stock that is hinged at the top, I now cut out two separate circles. I score the one for the card bottom about 3/4 " from the top and fold it down to make a flap. Then I match the two pieces up and adhere them together. Makes the card a bit sturdier and I find it easier to make as well.

Sparkle and Shine!

I'm just a bit smitten with today's card. All that sparkle makes me smile!

At first I wanted to use red glitter on the die cut candy cane, but I tried it and ditched it. Using the Glimmer paper for the background piece worked well. Love all that sparkle and shine!

The JOY image from the Welcome Christmas stamp set is the only stamping. See you Monday!

Peekaboo!

I measured those cute framed windows in the Peekaboo Die and had them sitting on my craft table. Watching for the opportunity to use one on a card. Today is the day. Peekaboo!

The die has windows in several shapes and sizes. It was featured as part of the Advent Calendar in the Holiday Mini. I decorated the closed window with a die cut snowflake and a Marina Mist taffeta ribbon bow.

Open the door and you can see this cute snowbuddy friend inside! I used the Snow Much Fun stamp set, Santa's Helper DSP, and Riding Hood Red card stock. The images are on Confetti White, which holds up well for water color. I scribbled marker on my acrylic block and dabbed it on with Blender pens. Rhinestones shine for bling!

Keeping this post brief today to get on with other things. No snow is in the forecast but it has gotten chilly and there's lots to do over the weekend. I love being outside in this weather, as a matter of fact I'm posting out back while Josie plays. For this NC girl, it feels great to have to wear long sleeves and maybe even a jacket.

Fresh stuff

I have loved the fun comments and appreciate hearing from so many of you, I think you're happy to have some Fresh Stuff on my blog this week!

I'll be going grocery shopping this afternoon and bringing home some fresh stuff to eat - I hate it when we are low on healthy munchies.We need some fruits and veggies!

Or maybe my title is referring to fresh Fruits & Flowers, the adorable stamp set that I inked up for today's card, all wrapped up in Berry Blossoms DSP.

Isn't this some eye candy that looks good enough to eat?

I had fun with the cute sketch at The Sweet Sunday Challenge and having to come up with small enough images sent me searching for just the right set. The strawberries were inked with markers, snipped and popped up. In fact, all of the circles are also on dimensionals. The floral designs were punched right out of the DP, and I added an In Color brad for those fun polka dots.

The sentiment is from the Friendly Phrases set.
