Welcome to Friday Flashback! where I share a stamp set or accessory that deserves to be in the spotlight even though it often gets overlooked or has retired. I began this feature to encourage myself and all of us to dust off those horded supplies and give them a new look!
I know it's been quite awhile since I posted a Friday Flashback for you, and there's ONE big reason why I haven't - NEW stamps! I find I hardly have time to use them enough. But I had fun pulling out the Trendy Trees set for today's whimsical card.
How about trees using Peach Parfait and Poppy Parade?
There's a bit of a story behind this card. I was enjoying pulling out the colors (the combo was for the color challenge at Splitcoaststampers.) I was beginning to make a card with butterflies when my daughter just casually remarked that I always use butterflies!
Determined to use something ELSE, I chose this set. Just so you don't think I could visualize Poppy and peach trees right off the bat! Oh no, I stumbled into them. <g> But it's fun when that happens!
I stamped the dotted border from the Borderlines set and tore the edges to create a little scene. The card base was embossed and then I rubbed the white craft pad in places to add texture and a hint of clouds.
Hope you've enjoyed this little vignette and that you'll be inspired to pull out an old favorite and ink it up. Won't you take a moment and let me know what you think of today's card?
