It's time for the Stamp Review Crew Blog Hop! I am so glad you joined us to see projects using the Work of Art stamp set. I love the fact that this hop gives me an opportunity to bring out a set and find new ways to use it. Or, just remember how much I love it in the first place! Often when I think I've done or seen every idea with the set, I am surprised to find a new angle. I know you'll find many new ideas from the others in this talented group of stampers!
For today's card I began wanting to use the long line image to make a plaid background. I stamped the image on Whisper White card stock with Melon Mambo ink, making a row of horizontal stripes. Next I addded stripes drawn with a Stampin' Write Pumpkin Pie Marker. Finishing it off, I added Pink Pirouette ink directly from the pad to the paper, and die cut the hearts.
I used some of the swipe images to add a background behind the hearts.
For the second card, I tried a new technique that involves stamping an image with White Craft ink, and then stamping over the image a second time using colored ink. I used Melon Mambo Classic ink. The key is to stamp the second color while the pigment ink is still wet. It gives an interesting effect, don't you think?
At first, I rejected this background and was going to trash it. But the next morning when it was thoroughly dry I changed my mind. I love it!
I think it's really nicely "messy" and works really well with this set! I used the line image again to create the ombre look behind the sentiment. Inking it with Melon Mambo Ink, I kept stamping without re-inking to get the lighter shades.
I hope you enjoy the rest of the hop!
