It's a pristine summer day here and so rare that the temperatures are just over 80 in August in NC. I keep taking breaks to go out and play frisbee with Josie or walk around the yard. My yard is rather "out" of bloom at the moment, so I came inside to create with the blooms in the I Like You Hostess stamp set.
These flowers are perfect for coloring with Blendabilities. Can't tell you how much I am loving these alcohol markers. But I will try in my upcoming video as I promised.
I pondered the question of whether I prefer to color light to dark or dark to light as shown on page 166 in the annual catalog. My answer is that it's really up to you, but it does make a difference what you are coloring and what effect you want to achieve. For this floral image, it was natural to have the darkest area be at the base of each petal so I started there and then went lighter towards the outer edges.
It was fun dressing up the lovely sketch from MOJO Monday with the Gold Soiree Specialty Designer Paper and Gold Satin Ribbon. The pearls were also inked up with the markers for a peachy glow.
Did you know that when you order $150 worth of stamps, paper, ink and accessories, you receive $25 free hostess dollars to spend on any item, or maybe this set? I love creating, sharing and highlighting Stampin' Up! products. I want you to love to visit my blog. Hope you feel like you're sitting here in my kitchen sharing a cup of tea with me. I 'd love to be your demonstator. Wouldn't you like to shop with me?
This card is for the tall sketch, and measures 4 x6". That means it gets a custom made 4-1/2 X 6-1/2" envelope to make it extra special for my recipient who shall remain nameless until the appointed date, since she reads my blog occasionally.
Hope you have a great day! Thanks so much for encouraging my creativity!
