I received a request to take part in a blog hop and card drive and as soon as I read it I felt grateful for an opportunity to use my blog to help spread the word and love for Jaimie Cates. I hope you will want to participate in this opportunity to bring hope and blessing to a precious 11 year old girl. Here's her story from those who are asking for our help... Please join us!

"On October 4^th, 4 teenagers armed with knives broke into a home in a small town in New Hampshire. Alone and sleeping inside were a mother and her 11 year old daughter. These 4 boys broke into this home with the intent to rob and kill anyone inside. They stabbed the mom, Kimberly Cates, to death and left her daughter, Jaimie, for dead in their driveway.  It was a completely random act, their home was chosen only due to its secluded surroundings."

Our hope is that everyone hopping around today will stop for a moment and think about Jaimie and her father and what life must be like for them now. One moment in time has changed their lives forever. We are asking that everyone reading this message please take a moment to make a card and send it off to Jaimie. You can make something very simple or much more involved, but please share some words of hope and love and let her know that people do care and want the best for her. Please send your card to the address below:

My card for Jaimie says, "Here's some love to keep you warm" and features cute and cuddly critters in cheerful colors. I hope you're inspired by her story to make your own to send to her. Come and see what many artists have created to encourage her. Can you imagine Jaimie receiving all these beautiful cards?

September Stamp With Me Saturday

I know many of you looked forward to the Stamp with me Saturday feature I had on my blog. Sorry to say, I am pretty busy doing other things on Saturday and have neglected to post a card and the directions. But I have something for you today!

I posted my Bearthday Wraps gift bag last week and so many of you liked it. So did Nancy Riley who featured the bag, my Christmas Pines card, and my Autumn Blessings card for her iPICKS.  WOW! I couldn't believe she picked three of my projects! Sure did make me smile <as in grin from ear to ear!> to be there among the other awesome and inspiring entries.

With all that said - here's what you've been asking for! Here are the basic instructions so that you can create the Tall gift box. Ready?

1. Begin with a 12 x 12 sheet of designer series paper.

2. Score vertical lines at 2", 5-3/4",7-3/4", and 11-1/2". Turn and score horizontally at 2" across the bottom.

3. Starting at the 2" score, cut up to the 2" mark to make the box bottom. Repeat; cut up to the 2" mark at the other score lines. Cut off the 1/2" piece up to the 2" line to make folding easier.

4. Fold along score lines and adhere to make box shape. Adhere with sticky strip or strong adhesive, sides first, then the bottom. That's it! Wasn't that easy!

Now decorate the front however you like. I cut the box down about 1" at the top, and added another patterned paper layer with a scalloped border. For more details on the supplies that I used click HERE for the original post. You can fold the top of the box down as I did, or let it stand tall and secure with a wide ribbon. I've used the Mark Your Calendar and Full Calendar sets - these are two sets I think are a fun idea but they have been sitting on my shelf! 

I know I've been LONG today but it is important that I tell you the beautiful crocheted flowers are a priceless gift made by my friend Michelle, who I've 'met' through my blog. She made these adorable flowers by hand and sent them to me and her kindness so touches my heart. Thanks, Michelle! You will be seeing more of these beauties in future posts.
