Thanks for joining me for Stamp with Me Saturday! Many of you have long awaited the tutorial since my first post of my original matchbox Pop-Up design using the darling animals from the Forest Friends set. Below is the tutorial which I am posting and I hope that you enjoy stamping with me! Please abide by my requests in the Fine Print on my sidebar to keep sharing fun for everybody. Ready to stamp?
Cut your matchbox using the Bigz XL Matchbox die from Stampin' Up!
Assemble your box. Tip: Use bone folder to crease well along all fold lines. Fold scored lines and pinch together at corners to make a crisp mitered corner before tucking in the flaps.
Cut a white card stock strip 1-7/8" x 5- 1/2"
At score lines, fold in accordion pleats.
Your piece should look like this:
Use adhesive to adhere the back two flaps together. You will fold this down when you place it in the back of the box. It adds stability for your pop-up images.
Cut two pieces of Sticky Strip (or redline tape). Put them in two parallel lines inside the box, beginning at the front of the box.
Trim the front flap of your white piece to 3/8" Fold the back piece down for stability until your panel looks like the photo and carefully place it in the box. Make sure it is positioned the way you want before you stick it down! The 3/8" flap is at the left side of the box, and the triple layer is at the right end. There are three accordion pleats in the middle. Once you are sure they are lined up, push firmly in the bottom fold of each pleat to make sure they are adhered securely. They need to wiggle back and forth once your images are on them because you lean them back when you close the box, but they must be secured at the bottom.
Here's the view from front to back:
Stamp three images, one for each of the folds you have in your box. Forest Friends are a perfect fit. If you want to try another image, make sure the tallest is no more 2", or it won't fit inside the closed box!
Decorate your box and enjoy giving someone a special surprise.
The Forest Friends stamp set and the Matchbox Die are available to order right now in the Occasions Mini Catalog HERE. Thanks so much for visiting! Hope you enjoyed the tutorial, have a great weekend!
