Hi everyone and welcome to day one of the 2012 Artisan Award Winner Blog Hop where each Artisan Award winner will share a project a day for the next ten days! These projects were sent to Stampin' Up! as our contest entries, and I think everyone will agree when I say we put our heart and soul into each amazing project and you are going to LOVE seeing them!
You should have arrived here from the seeing the fabulous work of Amy Bollman.
I'd like to start with a bit of the story behind the projects I'll be showing you. I was one of the Finalists - but not a winner - of the 2010 Artisan Contest. I didn't really think that I would enter this year, and I was content with my past showing and decided that was good enough for me. I stuck with that plan until just about a month before the entries were due. I kept on having ideas for project entries! After prayer and talking it over with my family, I decided to enter "just one more time." You can imagine my thrill at being chosen as a winner! I humbly look at so many of the projects submitted and feel amazed and grateful to be among the winners. There were so many outstanding entries and I heard that the judging was extremely tough. But a WINNER I am and I'm happy to share my projects with you!
My first idea was to make a ruffled baby diaper cover with the Summer Smooches Designer Fabric. As you'll see from all the entries on the blog hop, this was a very popular idea!
I began sewing at age 13, but it had been a long time since I'd gotten out the sewing machine! It felt so good to have fabric in my hands again, and I love the quality of our Stampin' Up! fabrics. Can't you just imagine this flouncy bouncy ruffled cutie on the bottom of a sweet baby!
Deciding to step it up a notch, I used My Digital Studio to design an iron-on to match the fabric. That's where having coordinating products becomes a wonderful option!
It was so much fun to print this logo onto an iron-on and add it to a purchased baby shirt. I think the "dream" sentiment is appropriate for a baby, and it also became MY motto as I created my projects.
Here's the finished outfit from the front.
Thanks so much for joining me today! We'll be building momentum every day and hope you'll tell your friends about our blog hop. They won't want to miss a moment! Next up?? The beautiful work of Erica Cerwin!!
This is so adorable, Cindy! Any little girl would just look adorable in it.

Ahhhhhh, how cute is this? Since I am past the "baby" stage, I just might have to make it as a gift.

Ok, I've been looking for the perfect gift to make for my daughter's upcoming baby shower. I wanted it to be something I made, and something Stampin' Up! oriented. This may be IT! THANKS! so much! Where'd you get the baby pants pattern? It's SO cute! ps the shower is Sept 1, I better clear off the paper and make room for the machine!
