Welcome to Day 3!! Thanks for joining me (if you are joining me mid-hop, you have just come from the super-talented Amy Bollman's blog)!!
The last card I made for my entry was done at the last minute just before my deadline for mailing the projects. Let me explain.
Night after night as I created, I kept having a dream that I had unknowingly used a product that was retired on a project, causing all my entries to be disqualified from the competition. I came so close to having that happen! I made a double gatefold card that I loved and was so pleased with this entry until ONE day I looked at it and realized that the sentiment had come from a retired stamp set. What to do?!? Kick that card out of the lineup and make a new one. That's what I did, but you know the funny part? I like the first card much better! I'll show it to you another day.
Here's the double gatefold card I created using the Flower Fest stamp set, and the color combination of So Saffron, Pool Party and Gumball Green.
The label is embossed with the Perfect Polka Dots folder, and the flowers were heat embossed, then cut out. When you slip the belly band off, the card fully opens and measures 4" x 12". Here's the inside.
I punched a circle in the large flower and stamped the sentiment on designer paper that I placed behind it.
Hop over to Erica's blog! Her talent just never ends!!
Absolutely BEAUTIFUL my friend!! Who wouldn't LOVE to receive such a wonderful card?? Love the gatefold, love the colors ... everything!! :)

Gorgeous!! I love that idea of punching out the center of the flower & putting the sentiment behind it. Great story about the retired stamp set!!
