Today's card comes with a little flash back. Tomorrow is the first day of school! Do you remember the excitement, butterflies and new shoes? I could never sleep well the night before school started.
I made this card for my dear daughter who has her first day of teaching Kindergarten tomorrow. I asked her if she liked the green and she assured me she loved it! "I do love the green, it's so..elementary. " Then with a cute chirpy accent, she added, "It's elementary, my dear Watson!" and went off to bed leaving me to giggle.
This is project #3 made to celebrate the In Colors and other products I received from Stampin' Up! I realize that Gumball Green was not included in any of my projects so today I highlighted it. The bright color combination of So Saffron, Melon Mambo, and Gumball Green just makes me happy. Just like the first day of school.
I pleated the designer paper and adhered it on the left side of the card, distressing it a bit. The Melon Mambo tag was die cut with the Apothecary Accents and provides a classic backdrop for the watercolored image.

This is adorable! And how wonderful your daughter is starting Kindergarten tomorrow :) I am sure she will enjoy teaching those little ones. And she will also work harder than she has ever worked in her life! My philosophy is that the pay schedule is upside down - K teachers should get paid the most - and college professors the least - no offense to any professors out there - just my opinion after 35 years in education!

Cindy, what a great card to celebrate Emily's first day of school! I love the pleats and the Pool Party ribbon on top of it, and the Melon Mambo layer, and how the bow and heart tie in that color. LOVE IT!

I love the first day of school! I have a bit of an obsession with school supplies to this day and can't wait to shop for them with Laila! :) I hope you daughter has a wonderful school year. Best of luck containing all the energy those little ones are going to have!
