I'm excited that the Stampin' Up! Design Team has gotten together a special blog hop for you which we plan to do the first Friday of each month featuring our Facebook projects. You should have arrived here from Amy Bollman's blog. She has a beautiful family and captures memories on her fun pages with such flair!
I fell in love with the Perfectly Preserved set and matching Cannery Set Framelits and knew I wanted to do something with those apples! I began by rummaging in my craft room through my drawers of 3D items I might someday alter or complete. A printer's tray from a local store seemed like a good start and I began to fill in the spaces with apples, in all shapes and sizes.
I was stumped on the title for awhile, until I brainstormed a bit about sayings with apples and came up with this little melody that my Mom used to sing.
I'll try to keep this post short, so how about a few detail shots? I printed these larger apples from the MDS downloads we were given and layered them together.
My favorite part of the project (besides the photo of my family) is the little three dimensional apple barrel I made using the Word Window punch.
I stuffed it with little strips of First Edition Specialty paper, sponged it and used black marker on the Mini Brads around the barrel's edges.
You'll visit uber-talented Erica Cerwin's blog next. Her out-of-the-box thinking and clever creativity = the cutest projects!
I dont often leave comments...however, this is so wonderful I had to let you know. Thank you for sharinf your talent!!!

Ohmy! Is this LOVELY!!! What a great idea!! I love how you did your apples, and that little bushel basket! And the picture of your family, or course! The Dahlias are real cute on there too - sometimes I have a hard time figuring out how to use those.
So where did you get the Printer's Tray???
Hugs!

so so cute, but you forgot the best part of the song, "and a hug around the neck"

My husband's grandmother and mother both sang this song to him as a boy and also to our kids. What a wonderful way to display a treasured photo. :)
