It's my favorite time of the month, the first week when I get to share with you the projects I've worked on for the Stampin' Up! Artisan Design Team 2012. We received a box filled with supplies for Christmas projects and opening it was like getting a WONDERFUL Christmas present a month early!
I tend to buy more Christmas sets than any other kind and this year it will be hard to use them all! I hadn't bought the Ornament Keepsakes set yet, but have been amazed by the gorgeous creations I've been seeing for months now on the web. All that to say coming up with a new take has been hard but you know what? Everything made with this set and the Holiday Ornaments Framelits is beautiful, you just can't go wrong.
I made a card, here's the front.
Here's how it opens as an easel.
And here's the surprise twist - I've added a pocket to the bottom layer ...
that's just the right size to hold a gift card or personal note. A photo would also be a special addition. I love the elegant look and texture of the flocked specialty paper used here. It begs you to run your finger over it to feel the softness.
A few details. I crinkled the ribbon by spritzing it with Stampin' Mist and scrunching it up in my fist. I know water works as well for spritzing, but hey, the spray cleaner is right there on my table. The card stock for the easel card is 4-1/4" x 11", scored and folded at 5-1/2" and 8-1/4". The pocket measures 4-1/4" by 4".
Also sharing in week one are my over-the-top-talented friends Jane Lee, and Heidi King.
I hope this idea is helpful as you plan for your holiday. Check back for two more Artisan projects this week, I'm really excited to share these with you!

I think I will have to case this for some of my Christmas cards. I am using this stamp set for all of them but tired of doing the same thing. Thanks for the wonderful idea. Love it.
