I am grateful today for so many things!
First of all, I should tell you that as I write this post, there are men on my roof wreaking havoc and soon to be nailing away! If you've not had your roof re-done lately, you'll have to imagine the noise and commotion. Our dear beagle Josie has spent the first hour of her morning barking furiously! Now that she's worn out,
I'll try to get something done. Before the racket gets to me too. Which may be soon! I picture a very frazzled me by the end of the day.
So very glad I got some stamping done over the holidays! Let me tell you about the So Very Grateful set, available to order on January 3. I've been waiting for a great set to show watercolor techniques. This is it! I have three cards ready to post this week.
For today's card, I watercolored using an aqua painter and ink from the pad lids. I love the images that are in the set. A large spray of flowers, a smaller one, and two sentiments. After embossing and die cutting the edge, I made a mask and stamped the flowers for the top layer.
I am totally convinced that anyone can watercolor! Don't stress about it, just put some color down, and add a bit of shading. Because I was using Whisper White card stock, I made sure to dry the tip of the Aqua Painter often with a cloth or tissue. As long as the card stock doesn't get too wet, it's a fun choice when you want a crisp, neutral background.
I used Coastal Cabana, Bermuda Bay, and Real Red for the flowers; Pool Party and Crumb Cake for the leaves. I love the touch of gold with sequins from the Gold Sequin Tape.
Thanks so much for visiting my blog today. Look for me to be posting regularly again. I'm so excited about all the new things coming with Stampin' Up!
I'm so happy to be back in action for the new year!
Oh, I just LOVE this beautiful card! This is a stamp set I was thinking about grabbing tonight, as a matter of fact! Thanks for sharing all the details. Hugs!

This card looks so happy - it's the color! I know what you mean about the noise. You and Josie would have been welcome to hang out here!
