I'd like to jump right in and say how glad I am that you are here!
When I learned we'd be using the Hearts A Flutter set, I was a bit stumped. As a member of the Artisan Design Team for 2012, I had made quite a few projects using it. The good news is this set and the matching Framelits are timeless, trendy, and totally versatile! I'm sure you're receiving a variety of fabulous ideas already from my talented friends on the hop. You should have just arrived from the blog of my friend, Ann Schach. I never get enough of seeing her over-the-top-gorgeous cards!
I decided to make a card in the style I do best - which is detailed, elegant and soft. Like a bride.
Last year I kept seeing the colors of cream, light pink and gold in the stationary catalogs my daughter received--as we prepared for her wedding. I've been dying to use that color combo ever since. I only wish that I could better capture the subtle hues with my camera.
I embossed the sentiment in gold, and added glitter to the banners by stamping in Versamark and then heat setting with Heat & Stick Powder.
Design Tip: We often see the combination of two neutrals and a pop of a bold color. My project uses two neutrals, Very Vanilla, Gold, and a hint of Pink Pirouette. Try making your own combinations of two neutrals and a hint of a subtle shade. Here are a couple to get you started: Very Vanilla, Crumb Cake, and Marina Mist (I saw lots of this in Christmas Home Decor collections); Whisper White, Smoky Slate and So Saffron, or how about changing it to Whisper White, Smoky Slate, and Pear Pizzazz?
I carried the color scheme and stlye elements I'd used on the front to the inside of the card.
We have two male birthdays coming up this week, so check back to see my bold GUY card made with the same layout (you've got to see this!) and set, later this week. I love a good challenge to juice up my creativity and I hope you've been inspired. Our aim is for you to get out your stamps and ink 'em up!
Next up is our hop leader, Tanya Boser. She's done such a wonderful job with the hop. I can't wait to see her projects!
