My next card with the Happy Watercolor set has a surprise inside. When you open it, another small card pops up. Who doesn't love a surprise? I've included a short tutorial for you at the end of this post.
First, have a look at the front of the card.
I'm sharing a few details before the tutorial because I know you'll want to try creating this watercolor effect. I stamped the floral images on the Wonderful Watercolor Designer Series Paper and embosssed them with black.
I colored them in with markers, and then carefully colored in between the embossed lines with my Versamarker--over the areas I had just colored. I sprinkled on clear embossing powder and heat set it again. This adds texture, definition and shine to the flowers.
Now for the tutorial.
Cut a piece of card stock to measure 2" x 5".
Score it at 1", 2", 3", and 4". Cut this strip in half lengthwise so you have two scored strips, each 1" x 5".
Fold each strip and overlap the ends. Secure to make a small square. Attach your squares together on one side.
Add Sticky Strip or strong adhesive tape to the top and bottom ONLY.
Attach the bottom of the squares to the card, being sure to line up the place where the two squares meet exactly over the vertical center fold line.
Cut a small card for the inside. Mine is 2-1/4" x 4-1/4". Decorate as desired, then score it in the middle. Attach it to the top of your squares, again lining it up with the vertical fold line. Adhere one side, and then the other side to the squares. They will fold up when you close the card.
I hope you'll enjoy making the inside of your cards more special!
Thanks so much for visiting my blog today. See you tomorrow!
