Hi friends!
It's been a bit busy here but I am happy to have a card to share with you today. It's been way too long since my last post.
You know I love the Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge? I try to play along most Mondays, but recently I had a great surprise! THIS card was chosen as a winner in the monthly contest! Wow, I was so happy about that and the generous prize offer!
I chose Poppy Birthday as my free set from Verve stamps. It has these wobbly whimsical flower images that really make an impact and they make me smile!
Last night I broke into this NBUS (Never-Been Used- Stuff) and here's my card.
Do you ever work so hard on a card and after you're done you wish you had quit tweaking just a bit sooner? The process took many twists and turns as I tried to fix things that were little bloopers or lack of balance. I went to bed thinking I should just start over, but you know what? I just don't have time to be perfect (HA! as if I could) or re-do everything that is just not the best. So I'm posting it just as is.
Splotches and all. After I added them I missed my clean white space. But I did think they added balance and fit with the playful theme of the images.
I want to know what you think - should I have left them off or included them? Do they remind you of sunshine bubbles or fairy dust? Or pink pollen? In my state our vehicles will be covered with the stuff by next week. I'm not kidding! But I do digress.
Here's the MOJO sketch and I played with the Just Us Girls Challenge to use splotches. Even pink and dainty ones.
Thanks so much for coming by today!

This is currently my fave set and your colors just popped out of the gallery! LOVE it! I feel your "pain" with going and going with a card and wishing I had stopped earlier in the process. I think the splats are just fine and the white space would have been fine as well! :-)

This is just gorgeous Cindy! I am loving these "wobbly" flowers lately! Your card is just wonderful splotches and all. I think we sometimes look at our work for so long, we can't see what it really looks like. It's perfect! :)

This is really fun and cute! Love those fun poppies paired with the green stripes and the great splatters. I think your splatters are the perfect addition to this. Thanks for playing with us at JUGS!

Cindy, your card is lovely! I adore those splotches! They are quite similar in shape to your main flowers, so to me, they remind me of a "field of poppies" in the background. I think they're perfect, and so is this card, and so are YOU! Hugs!

I do think it needed something in the white space! The splotches are fine, or some splattering would have worked - remembered when we were all using splattering? :) Great card!
