Welcome to our blog hop featuring the Stampin' Up! Butterfly Basics stamp set. I've had favorite sets come and go over my years with Stampin' Up! but the one thing I can say about this set is - it looks pretty NO MATTER what you do with it! It's as close to foolproof as they come in my book.
It is so unique and easy to create a collage with this great set! But I wanted to take it a step further and make a card for Mom on Mother's Day.
I made a trifold card beginning with a card base measuring 4-1/4" X 11". I scored it at 3-1/4" and 7-7/8" for the fold.
I die cut the word Mom from the bottom of the white card base. Then I cut the letters in glimmer paper and glued them on top.
Here's the secret: I partially cut the letter dies. They are still connected to the bottom of the card so you can tuck the top of the card into them to hold it together.
This is a great way to stretch your word dies! I think it's fun too for Mom to be able to open this special fold card. For a tutorial on partial die cutting, check out my videos HERE.
I know you will find great ideas as you visit the crew! Next up is the talented Deb Currier.

Cindy, I love the idea of using the flower stamp as a line background image! What a great way to use a large stamp for an all over design! I also love the color choices for your card. Nicely done!

What a pretty card Cindy! Love the use of all the different images from the stamp set for the background and then used the butterfly thinlit on top. Beautiful colours Cindy!
