Good morning! I hope your day is off to a good start. I was up bright and early this morning to finish the card I started last night. I wanted to make a shaker card and I was experimenting with a new way to do it.
Have a look and then I'll tell you more.
I used the MFT Die-namics set Blueprints 26 that was part of their fabulous new release to die cut the pieces, including the sentiment strip at the bottom. The word "happy" die cut into the balloon was with the Brushstroke Birthday Greetings Dies. The large balloon became the yellow panel and shaker pocket.
The flat shaker began as a cello bag. I slid the die cut inside lining up the fold on the left side of the image, then stitched along the curved side. I tucked in the sequins and beads, and folded and taped the excess behind the card panel. I always adhere a few sequins so there isn't an "empty" space in the shaker.
I'm adding this to the Inspiration Challenge at Curtain Call. I love gold so it was fun to accent with gold foil and sequins.
I promised a happy story yesterday, so if you need to be on your way feel free to move on. My photo in yesterday's post showed a lovely stash of new MFT items.
It all began one evening when I was commenting on all the blogs of the new release in hopes of being a winner of some of these goodies. Now, the designers really do an excellent job of showing off the new stuff, and my comments got more and more glowing as I progressed through the 16 blogs. By the end I was hooked. Who needs to win when you can order a few things? So, that is what I did. Made a smallish (?) order, and went to bed.
However I couldn't sleep. Buyers remorse set in. Just a little. I mean, I've been on a buying streak! I went to sleep feeling sheepishly in need of help to control my impulses.
Well, I have crazy dreams, let me tell you!! That night my dream topped them all.The horrific outlandish absurdly funny and ultimately frightening dream had me waking up saying "I don't want those stamps, take them away! Get those stamps out for here! I don't WANT them!"
Fortunately I woke up came to my senses. My dear husband comforted me and told me everything was alright.
A few hours later I got an e-mail from My Favorite Things. I won the $100 gift card!! I laughed so very hard and ordered right away! (again) And that's why there was a pile of new goodies on my craft table. That I don't feel a moment's guilt over.
Hope you have a great day and find something to laugh about in your life. Thanks for coming by today!
