Hi friends!
How are you on this Saturday? I've been stamping all week for a special challenge that comes up every year on Splitcoaststampers. If you haven't already, check out this wonderful world-wide stamping community and you'll be amazed. I had the thrill of being selected to their design team a few years ago called the Dirty Dozen. I'm joining with other DT alumni by making samples for fun challenges this week in a yearly event called Dare to Get Dirty (DTGD) in which members are encouraged to stamp along with us.
That was a long explanation. Here's my card made for the Shiny Stars Challenge.
I knew I wanted a clean style instead of adding lots of distressing, or an inked background.I layered the neutral and blue card stock together and die cut the stars. Then I added the glimmer paper in between the layers and adhered them with strong tape.
The sentiment was embossed in silver - I love the Liquid Platinum embossing powder it is such gorgeous shade. To add just a bit of grunge to my card, I shaded around the sentiment words with a Copic marker. The sweet sentiments of this set include one for inside that says, "SPARKLE it's your birthday!"
The embellishments were kept simple with looped silver thread and sequins.
Thanks so much for visiting me today. I appreciate every one and I love comments too!

OMG - it's so nice to see a birthday card that doesn't have a cupcake - don't get me wrong, I love a cupcake but this is such a refreshing change!! Gorgeous card -- love the simple style!

Thanks for writing, Vicki, so nice to hear from you!
I agree about the fresh look at birthdays. I was stuck on which set to use. I have so many with stars, but when I found this sentiment it all clicked.
