Hello friends! What have you been up to?
It seems I can not stop exploring the medium of my watercolors! I hope you're enjoying the results as much as I am loving the learning process. For today's card I tried an ombre striped background inspired by one Laura Bassen made in the Exploring Mediums class from Online Card Classes.
Using my Zig Kuretake colors I swiped a wet brush on dry watercolor paper to make the stripes.
The interesting thing about backgrounds is figuring out what to put on them after you make them. Loving the flowers in the Blissful Blooms set, I colored a few with Copics and started playing around with where to put them. I didn't want to cover up my pretty background! Adding the sentiment as the focal point helped everything else to fall into place.
I added white dots to the flowers because I love how Kay Miller does that. In fact, I love everything that Kay makes! Her awesome watercoloring is a huge inspiration.
I added sequins because I've become addicted to using them. On everything!
This wraps it up for me today. Thank you so much for stopping by!
