Hi friends,
It's Friday and I'm glad you're here because we have a fun challenge for you at Fab Friday!
It's a color challenge which is perfect for fall.
Now I have to tell you that I put off and put off and put off making this card.
procrastination with a capital P!
I couldn't think of anything just a little bit out of the box with these colors. But once I went upstairs to stamp, I decided to follow my whim of wanting to watercolor and I lost myself in the fun of it.
I began with Ranger watercolor paper a paintbrush and my Stampin' Up! inks. I put the pads directly to my craft mat, and after spritzing with water I had puddles of ink in Hello Honey and Cajun Craze. I smushed the paper into the colors and then dried the paper with the heat gun. I repeated this process until I had layered areas of color.
The fun continued as I used a stencil and water to remove some of the color. You might notice under the banner a light brick design where I spritzed over the brick stencil and that area became lightened with the pattern as I blotted up the excess water. I added splashes of color from a brush loaded with Cajun Craze. Last, I spritzed on some gold glaze in the top right corner.
The banner was die cut from watercolor paper with just the Hello Honey color brushed on and some water splotches. Similarly, I die cut the leaves from the same watercolor paper and added details with inks and a marker.
All this playing with inks made me happy, and I felt pleased when the card was done. My fingers are still inky!
I added the die cut sentiment, layered three times for depth. It's not really visible, but to soften the color I went over it with the Wink of Stella pen for sparkle.
Now it's your turn to play along with us. Please take a minute to leave some love at the DT blogs. I can't wait to see the projects they've come up with.
