Hello and happy Friday!
It's time for a sketch at our Fab Friday challenge this week. This card took on a life of its own and my interpretation of the sketch is a loose one as I got caught up with colors and technique. I've been making cutesy and clean and simple cards for awhile now and I just wanted to make an elegant card with feminine touches.
I wanted a soft impressionistic look and was so inspired by the gorgeous work and lesson (HERE) from Melissa Phillips. Her video is a joy to watch! I did multiple layers of coloring and embossing for each flower in trying to achieve a soft fuzzy look. This is one technique where it's OK to let the embossing powder stray out of the lines. I also added some lines to the leaves and stems with a versa marker and embossed those in white as well to give them a softer edge. The various shades of color on the blossoms don't show up in the photo but they add such interest and texture IRL.
I love trying new things, don't you? I am never bored with stamping.
I hope you'll give our sketch a try.
I can't wait to see what you come up with. You'll always find inspiration on the design team member's blogs too!
