I'm working through the videos from the Clean & Simple Card Class and learning so much! I'm a bit behind on my creative homework but here's a technique we learned on Day 2.
It involves using a border die to create repeated gaps in your card layout.
The scallops reminded me of clouds, so I sponged to create a soft sky background, and stamped images from the Kinda Eclectic stamp set. The sentiment is from Butterfly Basics.
The three die cut panels are mounted with foam tape to add depth. I am loving all the white space on this card, and will definitely try this technique again.

Today I actually got a card in the mail before I posted it here on my blog. How nice is that! Actually, I've been in a bit of a crafting slump so it is refreshing to remember how much it means for someone to get "good mail." That brings a smile to my face.
I had die cuts and a tag stamped with the Four You set on my worktable this morning. Picked it up and added it to a card front. Voila!
Tips for texture:
Layering several die cuts is easy with the Handheld Stapler. I used it to staple the die cut leaves and ribbon together. The stapler can reach up to 3" into your project. Love that!
Burlap Ribbon adds a textured layer that you just want to touch!
The tag die cut from the Chalk Talk Framelits stands out popped up with dimensionals, and accented with the Brights Candy Dots.
Large as life leaves cut with the Autumn Accents Bigz Die in Color Me Autumn Designer Series Paper, and accented with Thick Baker's Twine.

I know my posting has become sparse last week, I went on a trip to Philadelphia with my sister and 3 of our cousins for three days of fun! While I was gone, we had our bedroom painted - it is the whitest shade of Soft Sky or Coastal Cabana, depending on where the light hits. Having pretty walls again - love! The new brightness spurred us on to de-junk, rearrange furniture and clean the room from top to bottom over the weekend. It is wonderful having a space that feels all new and totally fresh to relax in.
When is your best time to stamp? Typically I love stamping in the morning but this week I began a new regimen of deep water workout classes at the gym. I come home feeling wonderful from the activity, but it has been hard to fit my stamping time in.
But today I took on the sketch at Mojo Monday, and even though it's late, I want to get it posted.
There are lots of new things that I love on this card, so I'll list them.
The Bright & Beautiful stamp set and matching Stars Framelits Dies are a favorite for Chirstmas.
I am absolutely loving the Crystal Glimmer Paper that I used on the small and medium die cut stars. It is white and bright!
The joy is cut using the Snowflake Card Thinlets Dies.
All is Calm Specialty Designer Series Paper and Washi Tape
I did emboss the large and small stars in silver and add a smattering of sequins.
That's my share for today. I hope you liked it! I'd love to hear from you.
Monday is my day to create. After I've started laundry and done the dishes, plus too many other daily chores to mention...I look forward to getting upstairs in the craft room and making things "ahead" for the blog and events coming up this week.
After all of last week's crafting, I spent the entire afternoon cleaning UP my craft room! So the MOJO Monday card got made this morning. I just LOVE this sketch!
I was determined to play with some of my new supplies from the Holiday catalog. Have a look.
I am such a fan of Pear Pizzazz and Coastal Cabana together and I love the patterns of the All is Calm Specialty Designer Paper. I got the Christmas Bauble stamp at convention and can't believe I've waited this long to color it with Blendabilities. Click on the pic for a larger view to see details of the shading.
You can look forward to videos in the next couple of days showing how I blend. Please subscribe to my Youtube channel, so you'll be sure not to miss them.
I hope you are having a great week! Thanks so much for visiting

I came back from a delightful weekend trip to visit with family. We had a cool sunny day to sit outside and enjoy conversation and iced tea in the backyard. A great way to celebrate the official start of summer.
( ...so I'm from NC, anything under 90 is cool to me.)
I had lots of catch up to do on arriving home, but I had a great hour or so in the stamp room last night. I finally pulled out the Flower Patch stamp set and these pretty blooms brought a smile to my face.
In happy summer colors. You'll see that Coastal Cabana is still top of the list, paired with Daffodil Delight, and Crisp Cantaloupe.
The Mojo Monday Card Sketch Challenge offered this great layout. I turned it horizontally.
New products add lots of texture to this card! Here they are, with a few design tips -
Flower Fair Framelits include 11 dies that coordinate with the images of the Flower Patch stamp set. These came be used with stamped images or alone to make layered flowers with Patterned paper or card stock. I LOVE that!
Large Polka Dot Embossing Folder - I've been waiting for this one! The texture is so classic and just right for any style: elegant, graphic, or cute and fun!
Lovely Lace Embossing Folder - Detailed and elegant. I used a small amount instead of embossing the whole card front. Makes a great accent!
Fun Frames Embossing Folders - make a wonderful focal point. The rectangle with the polka dots is an easy way to repeat elements on your card.

The Pictogram Punches stamp set is one of those that didn't call out to me at first glance. But who can resist a set with matching punches? I love the Star Framelts and they are a good fit with this theme. Have a look!
I made this as a thank you, but wouldn't it be great for the 4th of July or a birthday? I stamped the small red stars and punched them out. The striped banner and larger stars were die cut.
Speaking of die cuts, you know one thing I like to do with them, right?
Suspend them inside the card for a .....
....SURPRISE!!
I'll be back tomorrow with a full tutorial for the suspension cards I've been making. Hope you will be back. Have a great day!

Hello everyone! Welcome to our third Creation Station blog hop! Every other week we feature two stamp sets and one accessory. This month I am focusing on what I have. It's also what I love. The Something for Baby stamp set and matching Baby Firsts Framelit Dies are just the cutest and will be available to order starting tomorrow in the new catalog.
Die cuts are so fun to play with especially when they involve cute T's and baby clothes, toys, and a carriage.
I chose my colors beginning with Daffodil Delight for the Dear Ducky. The baby booties are a new In Color, Tangelo Twist. Coastal Cabana and Crumb Cake complete the combo.
I made an oval window with the Oval Collection Framelits, and layered a strip of vellum over the patterned papers. It softens the colors and makes an easy sort of pocket to tuck the die cuts into. The sentiment from the A Dozen Thoughts stamp set is embossed in white on the vellum strip. The rick rack was made with the Tasteful Trim Die. It's no longer available, but I will continue making detailed border strips with it.
To me, the best part of this card is the SURPRISE inside! It's a suspension card and the onesie is the perfect image to hang in there. It even has its own hanger die cut!
When you open the card, there it is hanging out an inch or so from the card base. The congratulations sentiment is from the Bravo set in the new catalog.
The images with this set are so adorable! I couldn't put it away without making a trio of gift cards.
I hope you've enjoyed my creations with this set. Imagine the fun projects you could make with it!

I buy more stamp sets that are Christmas-themed than any outher group. The category that comes next is Baby cards. They are just so cute, kind of like baby clothes! Irresistable to look at.
The Something for Baby set coming in the new catalog was a perfect pick for me. Not only does it have baby clothes and toys, there are matching Framelits to die cut them with called Baby's Firsts.
This set has cute written all over it, don't you think?
Paired with the new Lullaby DSP, I stamped my images in Hello Honey, Pink Pirouette and Crisp Cantaloupe inks. The pale Onesie is popped up to wobble and I love the effect!
See the little gizmo underneath? It's called an Action Wobble Spring and you can find it online. Well worth it if you like a fun spin and interactive card.

I went up to my craft room to play yesterday. Where do you play? In the kitchen? Digging in dirt and creating flower beds? Seriously. When I find the delight in what I'm doing, it makes everything so much easier more fun.
Yesterday I began playing by going through my patterned papers to find what delighted me. Soft patterns, pretty pastels, and a bit of shabby. A card was born.
Ta-dah! Sometimes I just want to sing.
A great sketch from Mojo Monday, a silky bow and shabby roses....
with a lovely sentiment from the Trust God stamp set.
I hope you'll be blessed today to find delight in making something beautiful.

Good morning! I am still on my spring kick but had to take a break from flowers today. Flowers are my go-to choice but it's becoming easier with all the fun new stamps and accessories we have to choose other images. I love butterflies! Seriously, what's NOT to love about them, right?
I got just a little tied up making the Baker's Twine loops. Julee Tilman who designed the sktech at Mojo Monday had this gorgeous sample with curled linen thread at the top. I went a little loopy trying to recreate the look with cotton twine.
I used Tombo Multi-purpose glue. Just a litte dab on a card stock scrap. I slid the length of twine through it to make it slightly tacky. I also used a tiny bit of glue (put on with a match size paper scrap) under a couple of the curves to tack them to the card base. Baker's Twine curls just a little when you roll it over the edge of your scissors just like thin ribbon.
I know spring is coming and it makes me smile. So do butterflies. And comments from my readers. Have a great day!
